Californians are already paying too much for the basics. Our tax system should work for working families, not against them. That’s why I’m sponsoring the California Food Tax Fairness Act to end the sales tax on food - including restaurant meals, prepared food, and delivered meals that busy families rely on. I’ll also fight to close unfair tax loopholes and make sure wealthy individuals and corporations pay their fair share. And I’ll bring the same taxpayer watchdog approach I’ve used before: when I found fraud on my own college board, I acted and helped save taxpayers millions.
