Santa Clara County Supervisor Margaret Abe-Koga says her support for John Pimentel is grounded in his experience, thoughtfulness, and willingness to take on difficult work in government.

California State Senator Josh Becker has worked closely with John Pimentel on expanding access to community college in San Mateo County.

In his endorsement, Becker recalls John approaching him with the goal of making community college truly free - including books, fees, transportation, and other costs. That effort has since helped more than 35,000 students. Becker also points to John’s role as a fiscal watchdog on the community college board and describes him as a creative and innovative problem-solver who brings that same approach to public service.

Becker represents California’s 13th Senate District, which includes most of San Mateo County and the northern portion of Santa Clara County.

California Assemblymember Marc Berman says his support for John Pimentel is grounded in years of knowing him and seeing how he approaches public service.

In his endorsement, Berman highlights Pimentel’s willingness to ask tough questions, demand accountability, and work to improve the organizations he serves. Berman says he believes Pimentel would bring that same approach to the California Board of Equalization and expresses his confidence in his candidacy.

Berman represents California’s 23rd Assembly District, covering portions of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Mahan describes accountability as central to the kind of leadership he wants to see in elected office and says he believes Pimentel would bring that approach to the Board of Equalization.

Burlingame Mayor Michael Brownrigg has known John Pimentel for many years and points to John’s record in business and clean energy as important parts of his experience.

In his endorsement, Brownrigg highlights John’s path from community college to co-founding clean-energy companies in California, along with his experience creating jobs and understanding the financial side of major projects. Brownrigg says John would bring greater fairness, productivity, and common sense to the California Board of Equalization.

Campbell Mayor Sergio Lopez says his support for John Pimentel is grounded in firsthand experience working with him and seeing his approach to public service.

In his endorsement, Lopez highlights Pimentel’s work helping make community college tuition-free in San Mateo County and describes him as someone who knows how to be effective and get things done in government. He also says he knows and trusts Pimentel and believes he would be an effective representative on the State Board of Equalization.

San Carlos Mayor Pranita Venkatesh says her support for John Pimentel is rooted in his commitment to community, hard work, honesty, and fairness.

In her endorsement, Venkatesh says she believes Pimentel would bring those values to public service and describes his personal story and work ethic as part of why she supports his campaign for the California Board of Equalization.

Metropolitan Transportation Commissioner Gina Papan says her support for John Pimentel is based on his character, experience, and record of getting results.

In her endorsement, Papan describes Pimentel as caring, capable, and well-suited for the work of the Board of Equalization. She also points to his role in helping make community college tuition-free in San Mateo County as an example of his record in public service.
